This past semester in M.I.S. I learned many new things about information systems. The one that I found most interesting was from Steve Jobs and apple. When they introduced the new iCloud from the OSxLion software update I quickly grew fond of it. Having an iTouch and my roomates MAC computer it allowed me to put all my files up in the cloud. What the iCloud actually does is allows you to save information to an access point which you can access anywhere you have wireless internet. So say you forget to sumbit a paper or email one to yourself and you left your computer at home, you can access your file wirelessly through your iTouch, iPad, or another MAC computer through the iCloud application. It's one of the easiest applications to learn and use and is very beneficial. This was one of Steve Jobs last contributions to the apple industry and I feel as if it was a breakthrough for technology.
Another good thing about the iCloud is that its free as long as you have the OSxLion updated on your MAC. Also you are given a free amount of space to hold your content within the iCloud. Along side with this you can also purchase more space if you need to put more content into this software. I found this very interesting because larger companies now have a way of backing up all there data for a cheap and very effective way.
Overall the new iCloud update has been a breakthrough in cloud computing and I cant wait to see what comes out next.
